Poems for Spring

Double rainbow over Woodslawn Farm. March 28, 2016. Photo by George Gutierrez.

Driving past too quickly
to name its aroma -
that crimson bush

Harsh warnings
from a vivid jay
the low barometer drops lower

Early spring fields
under a double rainbow
as the old man dies

From woods to garden,
from garden to feeder
a speck of goldfinch

I think these haiku have never before been on this site. They were written new for Farm Song, which is now making amazing progress, with transcontinental help from Nancy.
